I took a water softener to DuMor for repairs. Dave (the Service Manager) said it would be no problem and told me it would take a couple of hours on the bench to figure out what the problems were. I specifically told him that I needed a quote beofre the did any repairs, to which he again said, "No problem."
I'm not saying that the service wasn't worth what they charged... The unit does appear to be working again. But I do have a major issue with the fact that they didn't do what they said they would do. I'm a Service Manager myself, and when we don't quote up front, we don't get paid.
I spoke to Neil, the technician who was working on the unit who had a question, and I asked him for an estimate as well. He told that he hadn't really done anything yet other than clean the unit up and would know more in an hour or so. Then Dave called me a couple of hours later to tell me that it was done. I never received a quote, but they didn't hesitate to give me the bill for $360 -- a full $300 more than the "couple of hours on the bench" that they had told me before.
It's been more than 9 days since I submitted a request via their on-line process regarding service for my existing R.O. Drinking Water system. If you're going to set up an on-line presence then somebody needs to keep track of it.
Wanted to buy a kinetico softener. Went to the office and since the salesmen were gone I talked to the owner Brian. Above and beyond from explaining what I needed to the proper installation by his crew. Even checked in on me a couple days after to make sure everything is well. Dad has had a kinetico for years and I will do the same. Well worth the money and they go above and beyond. If ur looking for a ma and pa company that does you right then head to this place.
