Precise, Meticilious, Museum Conservation - all these qualities are the job from Ron at Thompson Gallery - he has a finely trained eye for people like me who care about making art look it's best.I am smiling everytime I leave.
My wife & I took three items to be framed - two maps & a print of Notre Dame cathedral. All were from books or newspapers published in the 1890s. Ron did a beautiful job of framing, but overall attention to detail was lacking.
Overall, framing quality is second to none. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
When we picked the items up today, he had inadvertently framed the opposite side of one of the maps (shows France instead of Ireland). While it is still beautiful, it's not what we brought in (the map of Ireland had been matted by the shop in Boston where we purchased and the map of France was not visible). While he looked taken aback by his error, there wasn't even an apology made.
First, he said he would call us with a price. Instead, I got a call four days later saying that the items were done. The pricing was in line with my expectations, but the experience was not what was promised.
